Guiding Actuations

How precisely can we describe the process of building?

Architecture has traditionally been drawn as static graphical representation, while actual construction is time-based and highly contextual to the physical conditions of a construction site. Bodily endeavors necessary for real construction, and messy realities of on-site labor, are excluded from architectural instructions. If we were to describe the construction of architecture most precisely, our instructions would be time-based and responsive to feedback of changing conditions. By studying the mechanization of manual labor, we gain insight into the key feedback loops guiding the actions behind building. Establishing communication loops is key to steering constructive outcomes, one action at a time.
